You will spend one week discovering the Dodecanese Islands in the Southern Aegean by bike and in a comfortable two-mast motorised sailing boat.
Let yourself be mesmerized by the many things these different islands offer: the exciting yet tranquil Rhodes, the towering vulcano crater in Nisyros or the charming simplicity of Symi.
Your JourneyDay 1 Bodrum Arrival: Optional airport transfer can be arranged from Bodrum Airport. Check in from 2pm, and then time to enjoy a Turkish tea or a walk to the castle of the Knights of St John. Overnight in Bodrum. Day 2 Bodrum – Yalıçiftlik – Kos (18km) Today’s cycle tour takes us to Kızılağaç, famous for its local farmer’s market. Once we arrive in Yalıçiftlik we board the boat for lunch and a cruise to Kos town. An entourage of cultural sights in Kos town will give us an insight into the town’s turbulent historical past. Day 3 Kos Island/Kos Town - Nisyros Island (30 km) This morning we bike in the direction of the world famous archaeological excavation site of the Asclepion in Kos, the former realm of Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. Return to Kos and cruise to the volcanic island of Nisyros. Day 4 Nisyros Island – Tilos Island (30 - 40 km) Cycle to Nikia - a village built directly on the Stefanos crater rim at 1,400 ft./430 m above sea level. Enjoy a fascinating view into the volcano crater. At Mandraki your boat is waiting to take you to Tilos Island, inhabited since ancient times. Day 5 Tilos Island - Chalki Island (22 km) Our morning bike ride takes us from Livadia to Megalochorio. A tasty lunch waits for us on board followed by a relaxing cruise from Tilos to the island of Chalki. Day 6 Chalki Island - Symi Island (25 km) Cross by boat to Panormitis Bay. Cycle several switchbacks and slowly conquer the hill over to the other side of the island - and the island capital of Symi. In the evening climb to the upper part of Symi town. From the top we have a breath-taking view over the harbor and the coastline of the bay. Day 7 Datca - Knidos - Bodrum (41km) Over to the Datca peninsula and back into Turkey. Cycle to the historical ruins of Knidos. Spend the night in Knidos or Bodrum. Enjoy an evening meal with crew and guests. Day 8 Tour ends in Bodrum Arrangements end after breakfast.
