Stunning Salzburg is the home town of Mozart. You cycle through the Salzkammergut, a landscape of deep blue lakes, untouched nature and a backdrop of high mountains to reach the Danube Valley.
Your JourneyDay 1: Arrive Salzburg Day 2 Salzburg - Lake Mondsee (35 km): Bike to Lake Mondsee then through the soft hills of the Attergau. Day 3 Lake Mondsee - Bad Ischl (39 km): Along the lake shore to Scharfling, over the pass to Lake Wolfgangsee to Strobl and the on to Bad Ischl. Day 4 Bad Ischl - Hallstat (47 kms): Cycle along the Traun river to Bad Goisern and further to Hallstatt Bad Ischl to Hallstat. Cycle or ferry back to Bad Ischl. Day 5: Bad Ischl - Grein by train Leave your bike in Bad Ischl. Take a scenic train ride out of the Salzkamergut to the Danube city Grein (including your luggage). Day 6: Grein - Melk - Emmersdorf (62 km): From Grein through the romantic Strudengau in the narrow Danube valley. Onto Melk and a visit to the Abbey, then a short trip to Emmersdorf. Day 7: Emmersdorf - Krems (35 km): Lush vineyards line your way to Krems. You can choose on which site from the Danube you wish to ride. Day 8 Krems - Tulin (46 km): Cycling today for the most part, declines softly and you can enjoy the views and landscape on your last stage in a relaxed manner. From Tulin take the train to Vienna (included) where you return your bikes. Day 9 Vienna: Individual departure or extension. TerrainMostly flat but some hilly stretches in the Salzkammergut.
