Day 2 Salzburg / Attersee (45 km):
Bike to Lake Mondsee then through the soft hills of the Attergau.
Day 3 Attersee / Traunsee/ Gmunden (39 km):
Pass through the romantic valley of Weißenbachtal to reach the banks of the Traunsee where you will transfer by boat to Gmunden.
Day 4 Gmunden/Bad Ischl/Hallstat/Grein (45-55 kms):
Cycle via Bad Ischl to Hallstat. Train Hallstat to Grein.
Day 5: Grein/Melk/Emmersdorf (51 km):
Bike through the Strudengau to Melk and visit it's imposing Benedictine monastery.
Day 6: Melk/Emmersdorf to Krems (40 or 59 km):
Cycle through the lovely Wachau winegrowing area, past orchards and romantic villages to the medieval city of Krems.
Day 7 Krems/Tulln/Vienna (45 or 85 km):
Bike past Stift Gottweg (monastery) to the Roman city of Tulln. The Wienerwald Forest closely follows the course of the Danube. Pass the castle of Greifenstein before reaching Vienna. Option to take the train from Tulln to Vienna (not included).
Day 8 Vienna:
Individual departure or extension. Included train transfer Vienna-Salzburg
Mostly flat but some hilly stretches in the Salzkammergut. Flat along the Danube cycle path.
