Mozart Cycle Route
INDEPENDENT 8 Days / 7 Nights 340kms
Beginning from his birth town of Salzburg, you visit many places where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart made stops during his journeys. The route leads across the lakes area of Chiemsee to the Inn valley. From there cycle through the stunning mountain scenery of Northern Tirol and the so-called "small German corner" back to the Mozart town of Salzburg.
Your JourneyDay 1: Arrive Salzburg Day 2 Salzburg - Chiemsee/ Traunstein (64 km): Cycle along the River Salzach to Chiemsee passing Oberndorf, Waginger See and Nussdorf along the way. Day 3 Chiemsee/ Traunstein - Wasserburg (65 km): Cycle to Seeon via Seebruck. Continue to Breitbrunn and Wasserburg via Amerang. Day 4 Wasserburg - Kufstein (67 km): Cycle to the Kufstein, "Pearl of the Tyrol" through the Inn Valley. Day 5: Kufstein - Kirchdorf/St. Johann in Tirol (45 km): Cycle the slightly hilly "Kaiserwinkl" of Tyrol through the imposing moutain landscape of Tyrol. Day 6 Kirchdorf / St. Johann in Tirol - Bad Reichenhall/Bayerisch Gmain (48 km): Cycle to Waidring and Lofer before following the Romantic Cycle Way along the River Saalach to Bad Reichenhall. Day 7 Bad Reichenhall/Bayerisch Gmain - Berchtesgaden (23 km): Cycle to the world famous spa Berchtesgaden where you can relax in a thermal bath. Day 8 Berchtesgaden - Salzburg (28 km): Finish your cycle tour with a short ride to Salzburg. Your luggage arrives in Salzburg by 6.00pm. TerrainMost of the time cycle along bike paths and on side streets with little traffic (mostly asphalted). A few short sections have to be cycled on moderate used streets. MealsBreakfast daily.
