This tour is one of the region’s most diverse in terms of geography, cultural highlights and sheer beauty. From lakesides to open vineyards and cotton fields we experience all of Andalucia’s colours and pleasant back roads.
See ancient fortresses on the horizon, rustic farms harvesting grapes and olives and take in the laid-back culture of the small village plazas.
After cycling, join your leader for a light interpretive walk of the villages and visit monuments and places frequented by locals. Become acquainted with the ‘Tapas’ culture on your tapas and sherry night and lean how the Spanish live a remarkably long life!
Day 1 Arrive:
Met at Malaga Airport and transferred to the quaint village of Casares high above the seas.
Day 2 Casares to Jimena de la Frontera – (41 km):
Cycle the Guadiara Valley among citrus orchards and eucalyptus. Visit the Arab fortress at Jimena.
Day 3 Jimena de la Frontera to Arcos de la Frontera – (51 km):
Cycle through the Mediterranean’s largest preserved natural forest, the Alcornocales Nature Reserve.
Day 4 Arcos de la Frontera:
Circuit ride past watch towers, windmills and farmsteads then cool off with a swim in the lake.
Day free. Visit the Sherry and Flamenco capital of Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz, Seville, or a nice beach.
Day 6 Arcos de la Frontera to Zahara – (50 km):
Cycle past sherry orchards to the foothills of the Grazalema National Park. Enjoy wine and olive oil tasting in the village of Zahara.
Day 7 Zahara to Ronda – (45 km):
Ride to the stunning mountain town of Ronda. After a cave visit and walking tour enjoy a farewell dinner Spanish style!
Arrangements end with a transfer back to Malaga Airport.
Allow time to visit the Alhambra Palace before departing Granada. Easy transfers can be made to Malaga, Madrid and Seville.
