Your JourneyDay 1: Arrive Dijon. Day 2 Dijon - Nuits Saint George (25km): Follow the Route de Grand Crus to Nuits Saint George. Cycle through Gevrey-Chambertin, Morey Saint Denis, Chambolle Musigny and Vougeot, famous villages of the Cotes de Nuits. Day 3 Nuits Saint George to Beaune (25km): Leave Nuits Saint George and head for Beaune, known as the wine capital of Burgundy. The 15thC Hospices with the gloriously patterned, steep roof composed of tiny tiles of orange, ochre and green is a must to visit. Day 4 Beaune to Chagny (25km): Cross the Cote de Beaune through the best known villages of Pommard, Mersault and Puligny-Montrachet. The latter is considered one of the greatest white wines in the world. Day 5 Chagny – Dracy le Fort (22km): Follow the ‘Voie Verte’ alongside the canal du Centre to Saint-Léger-sur-Dheune and the vineyards of the Côte Chalonnaise. Visit the medieval Château de Germolles. Day 6 Dracy le Fort – Cluny (47km): From Dracy to Cluny ride a cycle path through a varied landscape of forests and traditional countryside houses: “cabottes” (small stone houses), wash houses, fountains. Pass through the medieval town of Saint Gengoux Le National and Cormatin, a village known for its château. From here the route will become hilly until you reach Cluny, the spiritual centre of Europe in the Middle Ages. Day 7 Cluny to Macon (28km): Follow an easy flat "Green Trail" that winds for about 23km through the Val Lamartinien. The landscape is dominated by rocks Solutre Vergisson of Mount Pouilly and classified as one of the most beautiful sites in France. Day 8 Macon: Arrangements conclude after breakfast. Extend your stay and visit the Beaujolais region on a 5 Day/4 Night bike tour. TerrainDijon to Macon - Easy - mostly flat with some hills mostly on quiet side roads and paths.
