Vienna to Prague

Your Journey

Day 1:

Arrive Vienna - Valtice. Travel by train from Vienna to Breclav (not included) and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 Valtice - Lednice - Mikulov (30 km):

Cycle along forest and field trails. At Mikulov visit the imposing castle, historic square, the tomb of the Dietrichstein family, as well as the Jewish Cemetery.

Day 3 Mikulov - Znojmo - Vranov nad Dyji (42 km):

Transfer to Znojmo, a royal town with a lovely historical centre. Cycle in the National Park Podyji. The river canyon and viewpoints will reward you for the challenging hill climb.

Day 4 Vranov nad Dyji - Slavonice - Telc (46 km):

Skirt the Austrian border passing the Renaissance chateau at Uhercice. From Slavonice travel by local train to Telc, a World Heritage site.

Day 5 Telc - Jindrichuv Hradec (42 km):

Cycle through Czech/Moravian Highlands. Stop enroute at the memorial of Jewish painter Frantisek Moritz Nagl in Kostelni where he loved to paint in the surrounding landscape. Arrive Jindrichuv Hradec which has the third biggest castle complex in the Czech Republic.

Day 6 Jindrichuv Hradec - Trebon (30 km):

Visit the historic town & castle then cycle the Bohemia Lake District to the medieval walled town of Trebon.

Day 7 Trebon - Cresky Krumlov (53 km):

Your last day of cycling leads you through hilly terrain to the jewel of South Bohemia, Cesky Krumlov.

Day 8 Cresky Krumlov - Prague:

Day free to enjoy Cesky Krumlov. Late afternoon transfer by coach to Prague.

Terrain

Two grades available. Version A is an easy to moderate grade that allows time to soak up the history and adds the unique Lednice-Valtice and Cesky Krumlov areas. Version B is for those requiring longer rides with more challenge.

Meals

Breakfast daily. Dinners can be included for a supplement.
