This fascinating cycle cruise along the Danube River takes you through 4 European countries (Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia) right in the heart of the once brilliant imperial and royal Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
From the Bavarian city of Passau we follow the Danube bike trail downstream to Budapest.

Your JourneyDay 1 Arrive Passau: Embarkation at 5.00pm. The cruise will depart Passau at 6.30pm and cruise to Obernzell. Day 2 The Danube Loop (40 km): Cycle the great Danube loop of the Schlögener Schlinge, one of the most beautiful and traditional segments of the Danube with its small villages and cosy taverns. Reboard the ship in the charming village of Aschach. Day 3 Vienna to Bratislava (55-75 km): Start your cycle trip just outside Vienna in the Danube Floodplains National Park, one of the last unspoilt floodplains of Europe. Today's destination is Bratislava a lovely Old Town with its impressive castle. Day 4 Budapest: Enjoy panoramic views of the Danube bend's stunning landscape. Entering Budapest by boat is overwhelming as many of the famous tourist features are situated directly on the river banks. Guided city tour at night (optional) to experience Budapest illuminated. Day 5 Danube Bend (57-84.5 km): Sail from Budapest north to Visegrad with its landmark crag top fortress and ruins of the former palace. Begin your cycle route to the Danube Bend, very picturesque but slightly hilly. Visit the artist town of Szentendre and continue to Esztergom, known for its magnificent basilica. Day 6 Vienna: Discover Vienna by bike or take an optional tour by bus. See the most famous sights up close; the imperial Palace Hofburg; St. Stephen's Cathedral; the gorgeous boulevard "Ringstraße" with the State Opera House; the Burgtheater and the Town Hall; as well as the colourful "Hunderwaßerhaus" and the Giant Ferry Wheel, located in the Prater amusement park. End the day with a Waltz and Opera Concert at the Kursalon (optional) or a traditional wine tavern (optional). Day 7 Wachau (40 km): Small dreamy towns, apricot trees, vineyards, castles, monasteries and ruins are the charateristics of the hilly landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau. Arrive Melk with its splendid baroque Benedictine monastery. After a farewell gala dinner the crew presents an entertaining show. Day 8: Arrive in Passau late morning. Disembarkation 12.30pm. TerrainAlong the Danube is flat or slightly downhill. The route is almost completely on bicycle paths without any traffic. A wonderful route for first-timers and children. MealsAll meals included as well as folklore show, gala dinner and daily live music.
